STEVE IRWIN IN 2003

I visited Irwin's zoo in early 2003, and he happened to be there to give a lesson on crocodiles. Personable, self-effacing, passionate about his work -- he may have been a little too easy to mock, but I will genuinely miss him. By all accounts he was a nice guy, too, unlike that Paul Hogan fellow who is apparently an asshole.
