Christopher Cross
Pretty sure this wasn't what he had in mind when he wrote Think of Laura, but it is still some (serial killer) person's great intrpretation. By the way, what did Christopher Cross have in mind when he wrote this song, other than, "I AM A MASSIVE PUSSY" ? (the inter-net says she was a friend of his girlfriend --real, not imaginary--who was sadly struck by a stray bullet. still, if this is a *tribute* why does he sound like a whale that just swallowed a taxi cab filled with paprika?)

I like to imagine that his dad was never satisfied with his success: "Arthur theme" "Sailing" "Think of Laura" and told him to grow a fucking pair. So Cross's rage produced the blistering "Ride Like the Wind" which was as close to sounding like Bad Brains as he'd ever get. I imagine his father sitting down in a nice crewneck sweater in some Frank Lloyd Wright-esque Long Island home, and Christopher "Inspiration for Simpsons' Comic Book Guy" trudges up from the dungeon with a recording of Ride Like The Wind. Dad folds his arms, and says Well, Let's hear it. And Fatso plays it and the father calmly walks to the liquor cabinet, pours himself a pint glass of Gin, and goes to take a sip, and before it reaches his lips he turns and hurls it William Tell style at the wall above Christopher's head. Then he laughs maniacally and says, Are you sure you are my kid??? And Christopher shuffles underneath all of his Green Lantern comics and pulls out his Grammy and then the dad points to a picture of his other son Frank, who is standing proudly in front of a Pontiac Bonneville, and says, "You know, he sells the shit out of these things. Can't keep em on the lot when Frankie boy puts on his sellin' suit," And Christopher gets a large glass of chocolate milk and a block of sharp cheddar and retires to the basement.

[even though he is apparently from Texas and chronologically this couldn't be true, and his father was not a hard ass, but a man who enjoyed making love to dolphins]
